Each month we’ll bring you an easy recipe that can actually be made by you (not a gourmet chef) after a busy day. All recipes will be simple, healthy, quick, and won’t break the bank. Have a suggestion? Feel free to let us know!
As a snobby Italian, I’m always a little skeptical about tomato sauce recipes. Contrary to popular belief, you can definitely go wrong with tomato sauce. It’s so simple that every ingredient and spice need to be on point. If they’re not, you’ve just put what tastes like tomato water all over your pasta. But when Runner’s World said they had a recipe for the easiest, homemade sauce ever, even my skeptical self had to try it.
The verdict?
It’s great, and it really is the easiest sauce ever. It’s also versatile, allowing you to add veggies, meatballs, or whatever else to make it a more complete, nutrient packed meal. I also leave out the pepper, but add red pepper flakes (just because they’re handier and I always have them around) at the end. Try it – you won’t regret it.
