Summer! Beaches, picnics, #roséallday, longer days, and warm sun. The perfect time to make all of your self care outdoor activities – until it just gets way too hot and you have to move inside and sit in front of the air conditioner for hours. Just me? Okay, moving on…
Check out our list of summer themed self care activities to make sure you’re still taking care of yourself as all the fun social events and vacations kick into high gear. Have a favorite that we missed? Tell us in the comments!
- Go to the water – whether you live near a beach, lake, pool, or even just a small pond, spend some time sitting near or going in the water. It’s good for the soul.
- Have a picnic – is it just me or does all food just taste better when you eat it outside?
-
Take a day trip
- Go on vacation
- Take a day off from work just to soak up the warm weather
- BBQs – need I say more?
-
Take advantage of the earlier sun rise and get your workout in before your work day starts
- Eat ALL the fresh summer fruits and veggies – and then eat them some more.
- Drink plenty of water – it’s hotter in the summer (duh), so you sweat more. Make sure you’re hydrating!
- Get your favorite caffeinated beverage iced. I know, there are some hot coffee/tea purists out there. Maybe you guys can skip this one.
- Wear sunscreen. No, I’m not quoting that Baz Luhrmann song (throwback!). Actually put sunscreen on, especially when you’re spending all of that time outside.
-
Remember that every body is a beach body – how do you have a beach body? Have a body. Go to the beach. Done.
